Dance Off 2026

Friday and Saturday

We're having a dance off Friday and Saturday with the Alex Meixner Band as part of Kansas City's World Cup host city festivities.

The rules are simple. Pick a partner and hit the dance floor. Not-so-trained referees will watch and issue a yellow card if they see dance "fouls". Pick up a second yellow card and you'll receive a red card and a chance to sit the bench for the rest of the game.

It's all for fun and fun for all. Join in when we announce the contest!

Contest Terms

By joining the Red Card Dance-Off I agree to the following

  • I understand this is a voluntary, active dance event that may involve movement such as spinning, stepping, and quick changes in direction.

  • I agree to follow all contest rules and instructions provided by festival staff, volunteers, and our not-so-trained referees.

  • I understand that judges may issue yellow and red cards at their discretion, and all decisions are final (no video replay!).

  • I agree to wear appropriate footwear.

  • I understand that I am responsible for my own physical readiness to participate.

  • I agree to release, waive, and hold harmless the Sugar Creek Slavic Festival, the Sugar Creek Fair & Festival Board, the City of Sugar Creek, and all sponsors, organizers, staff, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, or causes of action arising from or related to my participation in the contest.

  • I understand that contest format, timing, and participation are subject to change at the discretion of festival organizers.

  • I grant permission for photos and videos of the contest, including my participation, to be used for promotional purposes.
